Carpineto is one of the highest estates in the entire appellation at an altitude of about 500 meters (1,650 ft) above sea level. The sedimentary soil has a galestro frame with clay accumulations dating to the Eocene era (15 million years ago). The unique microclimate, in a panoramic setting, gives wines with fine elegance, minerality and great longevity.
a "classic" vintage lead to grapes of excellent quality, highlighting the typicity of Sangiovese. The excellent phenolic components are in great balance with the alcohol and the acidity generating a harmonious and supple wine, with a delicate and complex bouquet, ideal for long aging. Grapes were picked in small lug boxes from Vigneto Paradiso and carried for the short distance down to the winery where they were immediately crushed.
