In the heart of Tuscany, in Valdichiana – the Tuscan Capital of Culture 2025 – stands Le Macchine del Vino, Carpineto’s company museum. Inaugurated on May 17 2025 at the Tenuta del Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, it tells the story of nearly two centuries of winemaking through a unique collection conceived and curated by Antonio Mario Zaccheo, co-founder of the company.
It is the first company museum to be included in the Fondazione Musei Senesi network, a testament to the strong connection between the land, the community, and the culture of wine.
The museum houses over 180 original items, including winemaking machines, tools, documents, and vintage photographs. The exhibition follows the wine production process: from vineyard work to bottling.
The exhibition features several sections:
Viticulture: historic tools such as hoes, horseshoes, and pruning shears.
Winemaking: pumps, filters, presses, scales, bottling machines, and sparkling wine machines, many dating back to the late 1800s.
Oenologist's lab: glassware, microscopes, and analytical instruments used over the centuries to monitor every phase of winemaking.
Cork and corkscrew collection: a broad selection categorized by type and evolution.
The visit also includes a small personal library, rare tools such as the Malligand for measuring alcohol, and two antique wooden filters from the 1700s.
The museum is set in a bright space with views of the Tuscan countryside, featuring a wine bar for hospitality and a technical tasting room with over 30 seats.
Outside, visitors can enjoy an immersive experience across the estate’s 180 hectares, sustainably cultivated using precision agriculture technologies. Here, Tuscany reveals its immense beauty with memorable views: vineyards, olive groves, woods, wildlife, and even two Etruscan tombs identified by the Archaeological Heritage Authority.
At the Tenuta del Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, guests can enjoy true wine tourism experiences, including tastings, picnics, vineyard walks, and guided tours of the museum. Everything needed to fully experience the deep connection between the surrounding land and Tuscan wine culture.
