Spring outing: on a tour with Dogajolo Rosato

At last we can say it: spring has burst out! After days of clouds and rain, the sun is back to make us feel its warmth. And back, with it, comes the desire to get out and about on trips and outings. What better opportunity to go to the sea, at the lake, in the countryside, in the mountains. Accompanied, as always, by our desire to discover new dishes, new wines, food and wine traditions throughout Italy. Well: today we want to recommend a wine that is perfect for an early June outing. A fresh, soft, elegant, fragrant wine as intense as the scents of spring: Carpineto Dogajolo Rosato.

The result of a careful selection of grapes in our Vino Nobile Estate, nestled in the rolling hills of Montepulciano, Carpineto Dogajolo Rosato is surprisingly capable of combining freshness and structure; an innate elegance with a drinkability that is always pleasant and snappy. A wine with intense floral and fruity notes, it presents itself with its powerful bouquet of rose, myrtle and vine blossom; which evolves, as it swirls in the glass, into fragrantly fruity scents such as apple, currant and morello cherry. With good persistence on the nose, the Carpineto Dogajolo Rosato presents itself on the palate in all its softness and fine acidity. Particularly varied sensations, ranging from red fruit to cherry, which give great freshness and cleanliness to the palate. A “small, great wine”, perfect both as an aperitif and throughout a meal with dishes that you can easily take with you on a trip out of town. Let's see some of them.

Chopping board of Tuscan cold cuts

Imagine the scene: a small table with a few chairs, nestled under a patio; a gentle hillside surrounded by vineyards and shady woods; a gentle warming sun; a glass of Carpineto Dogajolo Rosato and a chopping board full of every delicacy in the tradition of Tuscan charcuterie: Cinta Senese salami, finocchiona, Tuscan ham, lardo di colonnata. Maybe a few medium-aged cheeses peeping out here and there. A scene that puts one at peace just hearing it described. And it is, of course, the first combination we recommend: to be enjoyed, strictly speaking, in the tranquillity and idyll of the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

Grilled sea bream

Grilled sea bream is a great classic for out-of-town trips. What could be better than a beautiful grill spreading its aromas in a large garden, accompanied by glasses clinking in a happy toast? At the word “grill”, thoughts often run to a sumptuous slice of meat (perhaps a Chianina steak, how about that?), yet fish also lends itself well to being grilled: for example, sea bream. A fish with a 'meaty' texture, not excessively fatty if of good quality and with full and intense flavours. In short: the perfect travelling companion for a glass (or two) of Carpineto Dogajolo Rosato.

Grilled pork chops

Here is full proof of how our Dogajolo Rosato, as well as being a full and elegant wine, is also endowed with great versatility. First charcuterie, then grilled fish, and finally succulent pink meat (specifically pork) to be grilled as well. Carpineto Dogajolo Rosato, in fact, also accompanies succulent meat such as pork with great ease. Thanks to its fine structure, great freshness and perfect cleanliness it gives the palate. The scents of spring marry with full-bodiedness; elegance marries power and breadth. To treat yourself to a glass of Carpineto Dogajolo Rosato is truly to delight your senses.
