Spring in a Glass: White, Red, and Rosé

Clear skies, longer days, and vineyards slowly awakening to their most vivid colors. Spring is one of the most captivating times of the year, even for those of us who live and breathe the vineyard and the cellar every day. It is a season of returning aromas—both in nature and in the glass. This is the perfect moment to explore wines defined by brightness, drinkability, and intense aromatic profiles. A spring stroll translated into the flavors of a fine wine; here at Carpineto, we have a selection to suit every palate.

Carpineto Dogajolo Bianco

We begin with one of our most approachable and innovative wines, which has become a modern classic: Dogajolo Bianco. Crafted from Chardonnay, Grechetto, and Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown on our Montepulciano estate, this wine greets the senses with floral spring aromas and delicate notes of yellow stone fruit. Perfectly balanced and persistent on the nose, it releases a fresh, velvety texture on the palate. Each sip evokes sunny days spent on rolling hills or the crisp, salty air of the Tuscan coast. It is the ideal choice to toast the arrival of the new season.

Carpineto Spumante Brut Rosé

This wine is the definition of elegance. A sparkling wine with a fine and persistent perlage, it reveals tiny, brilliant bubbles in the glass. Our Spumante Brut Rosé is made from traditional Tuscan Sangiovese grapes along with other indigenous varieties. On the nose, it expresses a bouquet of fruit and flowers, followed by a subtle, non-intrusive note of yeast that enhances its complexity. With a palate that is both vigorous and delicate, this Brut Rosé strikes a perfect balance between freshness and structure. It pairs beautifully with a wide array of Mediterranean dishes, from appetizers with young or medium-aged cheeses to seafood recipes like baked sea bream or a traditional Cacciucco (the hearty Tuscan fish stew from Livorno).

Carpineto Rosso di Montalcino

This wine takes us on a journey to our Montalcino estate, located at one of the highest points of the entire appellation at 1,600 feet (500 meters) above sea level. Our Rosso di Montalcino is produced from 100% Sangiovese Grosso (the noble grape of the region) and undergoes a brief aging period in wood barrels. It is a wine of excellent structure that nonetheless preserves the primary aromas of the grape. Notes of violet and iris blend with hints of wild berries, blackberry, and raspberry. This elegant bouquet is the counterpoint to a velvety, savory sip with great depth. It is this balance that makes the wine perfect for a spring day immersed in the flavors of traditional Italian and Tuscan cuisine.
