Italy in a sip: a wine you cannot miss if you love the Bel Paese

Do you really love Italy and all its culinary richness? Well, let’s put your loyalty to the test a little bit! If you truly are a big fan, we believe you cannot miss this incredible product. We are talking about Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2018

Brunello di Montalcino is an international collective brand, which brings together many fine wineries which produce and sell this incredible product, one of the most important Made in Italy very well recognised all over the world.

As we were just mentioning, Brunello di Montalcino is considered one of the best Italian wines with a mention of honor among the most prestigious and valuable Tuscan red wines. This is thanks to its incredible taste, of course, but also because of its incredible history!

The first bottle with the Brunello di Montalcino denomination was presented in 1865, a date that effectively marks the birth of this wine. How far can a bottle go! From this moment on, the notoriety of Brunello di Montalcino has always grown, up to the present day, as you can easily bump into very valuable bottles on the market.

Accompanying this wine is very straightforward: this bottle goes well with medium-structured dishes, such as pasta first courses with meat, poultry, mushroom or truffle sauce, but also with second courses prepared with sauced pork or veal. Perfect pairings with Brunello di Montalcino can therefore easily be dishes with game such as stews and braised meats, based on wild boar, guinea fowl or duck, but also roast veal and pork.

The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2018 from Carpineto presents itself with an intense ruby red color, accompanied by subtle garnet reflections. Representing a true gem of the Tuscan landscape, the Carpineto estate, situated in Montalcino, reaches elevations exceeding 500 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest points within the appellation.

Enveloped by dense Mediterranean vegetation shielding them from the humid currents of the Tuscan Maremma, the vineyards benefit from a truly distinctive microclimate. Combined with the soil's composition, made up of marl and clay deposits dating back to the Eocene period (approximately 15 million years ago), this environment imparts the wine with aromatic intensity, lively acidity, remarkable elegance and astonishing longevity.

2018 was certainly a year marked by particularly heavy rainfall during spring and early summer, ripening was notably delayed. Nevertheless, the noble components of the grapes reached excellent maturity, yielding wines of exceptional character.

These wines showcase intense colors, accompanied by a robust polyphenolic structure and well-developed tannins that contribute to a harmonious and balanced softness on the palate. Aromatically, the bouquet is dominated by vibrant red fruit notes, complemented by occasional hints of spice, further enhancing the distinctive profile of the vintage. On the palate, it presents a dry, warm, and soft profile, coupled with a robust structure and lasting finish.

Established in 1967, Carpineto produces wines that authentically reflect the character of the Tuscan landscape, and this bottle makes no exception. We believe that every true wine lover should allow himself to indulge in this wine, so what are you waiting for? Go ahead and be prepared to taste the authentic flavors of Italy at every single sip!
