“Super-Tuscans”: Farnito & Dogajolo

Produced in limited quantities, initially as an alternative to DOCG wines, Farnito was first released in 1987 after long experimentation with international varieties. Aged in small oak barrels these wines are released after an extensive bottle-aging program. These “Super-Tuscan” are made from choice, dry farmed, hillside vineyards, to showcase the highest expression of international varieties in Tuscany. The name “Farnito” comes from a type of oak tree named “Farna”. Dogajolo is a young “Super-Tuscan” made from traditional and international varieties, Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon.
