Carpineto releases the 1999 vintage of the Appodiati Single Vineyard Collection.

Carpineto, a quality leader in Tuscan winemaking, releases their 1999 vintage of the Appodiati Single Vineyard Collection effective September 1st. These are limited release, hand crafted, single vineyard wines from truly exceptional estate vineyards. Produced to reward extensive cellaring, the Appodiati Single Vineyard Collection wines have been bottled unfiltered to best showcase the character of Carpineto’s top vineyards.

Wines composing the 1999 Appodiati Single Vineyard Collection are:

Molin Vecchio - Sangiovese 70%, Syrah 20%, Cabernet Sauvignon 10%

            Poggio Sant’Enrico – Sangiovese 100%

            Sillano – Sangiovese 60%, Cabernet Sauvignon 40%

“We believe great wines are made in the vineyards. Consequently, we have focused much time and energy on our land, continuously striving to improve the conditions that have gifted us with exceptional fruit. Extensive bottle age of over 2 ½ years before release is a key element to the quality of these wines, as we wanted to release wines that were intense and concentrated, yet elegant and ready to drink now or over the next generation” states Giovanni Carlo Sacchet, winemaker and partner in the winery.

A preview of the 1999 vintage Appodiati Single Vineyard Collection was shown to press and wine collectors at Bloomberg, in New York City, last February 20st. Since then the wines have received worldwide critical acclaim.

“These wines are produced in very limited quantities, ranging from approximately 5,000 to 8,000 bottles for each vineyard, thus are on strict allocation to the 41 countries to which we export” states Antonio M. Zaccheo, partner in Carpineto.

Founded in 1967 Carpineto produces wines from the most prestigious Tuscan DOCG appellations. The product line also includes varietal specific wines of great structure as well as innovative proprietary blends. Carpineto exports the majority of the wine production to 41 countries worldwide.  About 90% of Carpineto’s wine production is red wine, with the majority being “riserva” wines that are aged three or more years before their release date.
